‘Capacity Building Workshop (ENGLISH) 2016-17’

DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave organized a Capacity Building Workshop for English teachers of West Delhi cluster – II from 29th June to 1st July, 2016 under the aegis of DAVCMC.  The event witnessed the presence of a large number of teachers from different schools of DAV, participating enthusiastically in the teaching – learning process and sharing their modern and novel ideas with each other. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Nimisha Sharma and Ms. Mandeep Kaur (DAV centenary Paschim Enclave) along with Ms. Jyoti Puri (DAV Rohtak) for the Secondary Group (IX – X), Ms. Aarti Bhaskar (Hansraj Model, Punjabi Bagh) and Ms. Shweta Handa (DAV, SreshthVihar) for the Middle Group (VI – VIII) and Ms. Neha and Ms. Neelu (Hansraj Model, Punjabi Bagh) for the Primary Group (III – V), the Master Trainers selected by DAVCMC. The 3 day workshop provided an opportunity to all the participating teachers to present their lessons in a creative and resourceful manner followed by a comprehensive and exhaustive dialogue, critically analyzing and suggesting measures for improvement.

The highlight of the workshop was the lesson presentations by the teachers with the help of audio/ visual aids, along with a wide range of interesting activities and worksheets related to their topics. Teachers were acquainted with different teaching methodologies and innovative activities to help them enhance their teaching abilities, thereby making the subject interesting for the learners. The session was indeed enlightening as the workshop provided a platform to the teachers to share their ideas and they carried home valuable information about the fresh and novel ideas which can be applied to the teaching and learning of English language. The workshop proved to be extremely fruitful with the teachers gaining insight and expanding their knowledge.
