‘Let's Celebrate Nature 2016’
With an aim to aware the students about the existing environmental issues, DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave, organized various activities as per the guidelines of CBSE under the initiative – ‘Let’s Celebrate Nature 2016’.The junior wing of the school conducted a special assembly on theDay. The assembly focused on raising an alarm and sensitizing the learners about the growing depletion of the environment. It aimed at motivating the students to step ahead and initiate measures to restore the already disturbed eco logical balance. In order to encourage the learners to do their bit, the students of class III presented a skit showcasing the importance of trees.
A few hands on activities for classes I to IV such as planting saplings, making eco- friendly bags, poster making and slogan writing etc were also held. For the students of Class V, ‘Eco friendly bags making activity’ was organized. For Class VI, ‘Collage – Making’ activity was conducted where in the students collected pictures of different nests and the information related to it and made beautiful collages. For Class VII, a Class Discussion on ‘Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet’ was organized. For Class VIII, a Poster Making activity on the topic ‘Clean Surroundings to Prevent Communicable Diseases’ was executed. For Class IX, a Group Discussion session on ‘Practices we should follow, in our daily life to conserve Water’ was conducted. For Class X, a Report Writing activity was organized on the topic ‘Initiatives taken by the students to maintain Clean Environment’.
‘The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. Each and every one of us can make changes in the way we live our lives and become a part of the solution’.
All the students participated with great gusto and enthusiasm.These activities were a step towards bringing a change in the environment and it indeed proved to be a great learning experience for all.
