‘Independence Day Celebration’

The junior wing of DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave, held a special assembly in the beautifully tricolour bedecked lawn of the school on 12th August, 2016 to commemorate the 70th Indian Independence Day. The Supervisory Head of the junior wing, Ms.KiranJawa unfurled our beloved Tiranga and encouraged the students by urging them to strive hard to become useful citizens ofour nation. The programme boasted of innumerable enthralling cultural performances that filled every heart and soul with patriotism. Poem recitation by the tiny tots of pre-school and pre-primary, an enlightening speech about our journey to independence, anengaging skit highlighting the cultural and geographic richness of India, a melodious patriotic song by the school choir and a fusion dance performance by the young talented students mesmerized one and all.

The celebration continued, as the enthusiastic students participated in a multitude of engaging activities such as quizzicals, tri-coloured wrist band making, neck-tie making, hairband and caps making etc.This special day was also used as an opportune moment to present small tokens of love and encouragement to the underprivileged students of the vicinity who are a part of the literacy club of the school. The fun filled day came to an end with everybody’s promise of commitment in making ceaseless and sincere endeavours to take our motherland to the new heights of glory and make her proud of us!
