Natural Disasters take place in almost all the countries of the world and are common to mankind since this world came into existence. International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction is observed annually on 13th of October with a view to spread awareness about natural disasters and various ways to manage the crises. 
 

As per the direction given by Environment Department to celebrate 75 years of Independence of India DAV CENTENARY PUBLIC SCHOOL, PASCHIM ENCLAVE, NEW DELHI-110087 under the guidance of School Principal Ms. Manju Malik  had successfully organised a webinar for class VII and VIII students on 05th October 2021, in the commemoration of International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction to spread awareness about Natural Disaster, their different categories, consequences and the methods to curb natural disasters. Through this webinar students were sensitised to promote better mechanisms for disaster risk reduction. They were encouraged to use local resources to respond to disasters and guided to protect themselves during an earthquake and other disasters. Students enthusiastically participated and well comprehended the fact that we need to live in a natural environment, we have to be a little more careful regarding these disasters, be it man made or natural.
 

The students were encouraged and explained that effective planning is always the best response to anything that is not under our control and this is what one must do in the case of calamities hence, creating mass awareness amongst the youth today!
