World Science day is Celebrated every year on 10 November to highlight the important role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives. By linking science more closely with society, World Science Day for Peace and Development aims to ensure that citizens are kept informed of developments in science. It also underscores the role scientists play in broadening our understanding of the remarkable, fragile planet we call home and in making our societies more sustainable.
To mark this day students of Junior Wing under the able guidance of Madam Principal Ms. Sonia Malik celebrated this important day with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The special assembly started with the tribute to Eminent Scientists by the students of classes 1 & 2. They spoke about the inventions made by the famous scientists. Their efforts were appreciated by everyone. The students enjoyed a multitude of activities such as hands on experiments, rhythmic science (poem recitation), character portrayal, riddles etc. The activities aimed at stimulating the learners and enabling them to understand how Science impacts our future and daily lives.
All in all, it was a great fun learning experience for the children which has successfully ignited a spark in them to discover more about the world around them.
*“The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it.*”
