To take a walk down the corridors of nostalgia, the Fifth Alumni Meet, under the banner of DAV UNITED, was organized by DAV Centenary Public school, Paschim Enclave. The event’s advent was marked by seeking the blessings of our guests of honour,  Mr. Chandla and Mrs. S.P. Chandla, Manager of the School, Mrs. Kumar, Dr. Richa Diwan, Medical Superintendent, LNJP Hospital, Mr. Manoj Mittal, Founder of DAV United, Mr. Baldev Jindal, DAVCMC, Dr. R.K. Malik, Advocate and Writer, and Mr. G.D. Dhall, Retd. reader, NCERT.

The occasion was graced by more than 350 Alumni ranging across various batches. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school, Ms. Manju Malik underlined and praised the achievements of Alumni in all spheres of life. She felt that it was a matter of great pride for the school that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in various organizations and institutions. She praised their contribution towards the growth of their Alma Mater and emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the Alumni and current students.

The Inaugural session was also attended by Mr. Manoj Mittal, Founder of DAV United who highlighted the achievements of the school and called for greater Alumni Participation. It was a great feat for the school as Mr. Mittal urged one and all to take inspiration from the school and its people, who inspired them to never forget the noble values and morals. He applauded the endeavours of Ms. Manju Malik, Principal of the School, in the direction of churning out good and responsible citizens by leaving no stone unturned for their all-round development.

The teachers welcomed the alumni and appreciated their zeal to assemble. The Inaugural session was followed by cultural programme presented by the teachers.

Great bonhomie was observed everywhere with old students reliving their old memories with their batch mates, seniors and juniors. The celebration began with the enchanting voice of Mr. Deepak from the Music Department, who sang a melodious song “wo kaagaz ki kashti….”, that made one and all go down the memory lane and remember the cheerful time spent at school. The afternoon got all the more spiced up as both the junior and senior wing teachers presented mesmerizing and foot tapping dance performances. The teachers along with the alumni set the beats on “Taal se taal mila…”, while the highlight of the day was the enthralling performance by the senior teachers eulogizing the Golden Era of Bollywood. The show was set in the right mood by the pulsating Punjabi number which enthralled the spectators. The audience broke into persistent and rapturous applause to express their admiration for the excellent show put up by everyone. In all, the ambience was electric with people seen chatting and dancing in groups.

The Reunion ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal, Ms. Manju Malik and the flying of balloons by one and all as a gesture to strengthen the everlasting bond of love in the DAV family.
