‘BOOK WEEK IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHOLASTIC INDIA’

“Books wash away from the soul the dust of everyday life”

The school celebrated the love for books by holding “Book Week” from 14th of November 2018 to 20th of November 2018 to augment the literary skills and instill good reading habits in students. The event was graced by madam Principal who emphasized the fact that reading books help in the expansion of knowledge, empathy and enjoyment!

The highlight of the week was the model book fair put up by Scholastic India which had books on subjects ranging from fiction, non-fiction, reference, philosophy and activity books in English and Hindi. The graphical collection was an instant hit with the students, who were seen flocking the fair to pick up some. The fair was open to all the students as well as the school staff who showed no less interest than the students in buying books of their choice. Happiness was seen on the faces of Udika Bagga and Ronak Parjeta of Class V, who were given a chance to be the fortunate ones to get surprise gifts from the organisation for filling up their bookshelves with plenty of books. Furthermore, a small G.K. Quiz was conducted to assess the students and the winners were Parinita Sharma, Rohan Singhal and Sushant Goyal who amazed everyone by their astounding aptitude. The classroom challenge was won by Class V D as the students were motivated by their class teacher, Ms. Ashima Sharma, to fill up their sacks with oodles of books from the fair to enhance their reading skills and cognitive domain.

The opportunity to browse books of so many varieties, in a large number at a time, was a wonderful experience for the children.
