DINO – A FRIEND!

We all know that dinosaurs used to live 600 million years ago. But their fighting amongst themselves led to their destruction. The scientists have discovered that dinosaurs were living on the earth. Without their discovery, we couldn’t have known about them. They had a very large tail. They were of two types, carnivorous and herbivorous. They were very smart & intelligent. You will read about their smartness and intelligence in my story.My friends, Sahitya, Ruby and I had gone to a scientist’s lab. His name was John. He had made a time machine and wanted us to travel in that. As John was our uncle, we couldn’t say ‘no’. We agreed and were told to start our journey in summer vacation. We were in 9th class in the DAV Centenary Public School. We packed all the necessary things, which we required.
 The day came and we went to John uncle’s lab. We had to go back to 100 years old India, when the British ruled. But due to some problem in the machine, we went 600 million years in the past. At first, we couldn’t understand where we were. But by seeing a herbivore, we were frightened and couldn’t understand what we had to do. But in the lab, John uncle was busy in repairing the machine and was unaware of the problems, which we were facing. As we all knew that the herbivorous didn’t eat meat, we felt relaxed. After drinking water and taking some rest, we moved further. While going forward, we saw many herbivorous dinosaurs. Some of them were so cute that we just couldn’t take our eyes off them. You may not imagine how beautiful they were. After roaming for many hours, we were tired and it was going to be evening soon. So we decided to camp and take our food, which we had brought for ourselves. It was only limited, which would be finished in one day. The next morning, we decided to go inside the forest so that we could find some fruits for ourselves. The main trouble began in the middle of the forest, where the carnivorous dinosaurs lived. As my friend Ruby was collecting fruits, the earth suddenly shook as if it were an earthquake. We saw a Raptor coming towards us. We were frightened and started running for our lives. We climbed a tall tree and were saved. But the Raptor was trying to push that tree. As the tree was strong and tall, it couldn’t do any thing. But he was very intelligent and hid himself behind the bush and was waiting for us. Sitting on the top of a tree and eating fruits, we spent our second day. At home, our parents were tense and were enquiring of our uncle about us. But what could uncle John do? He could only try to repair the time machine and ask our parents to have patience. Next day, Raptor had gone to find some other animals, as he might have been hungry. In the morning, we came down from the tree. We were feeling very hungry and we went in search of fruits so that the fire of hunger in our bellies could be quenched. We were also feeling very thirsty. So we decided to go to a waterfall and drink some water. Near the waterfall, there was a young three-horned dinosaur (herbivorous) drinking water at the same time. Futub (carnivorous) came and attacked it. Young dino was afraid. At the same time, I hit upon a plan and asked my friends to enter a small cave nearby. I went in front of that Futub to catch his attention so that the young dino could be saved if Futub followed me. Seeing me, Futub ran after me but I climbed a tall tree so it could not reach me.Young three-horned dino, in the meantime, got a chance and ran away to safety towards the small cave, where my friends were hiding. They took the young dino inside. But Futub was under the tree and was waiting for me to come down.
  After waiting for an hour, Futub left me and went away. I got down from the tree. I went to the cave and met my friends. They were happy to see me. We were talking, then the mother of the young dino came and she was angry with us as   her young dino was with us. The young dino came out and stepped towards its mother and told her what had happened with it. The mother dino calmed down after this.
 We left the place and went ahead. After walking for hours, we saw an apple tree. We ate apples and relaxed there. Now it was evening, so we decided to climb a tall tree and slept peacefully. Next day, when we were about to start our journey, two small Futub (carnivorous dinos) attacked us. One of them caught Sahitya but the other dino also wanted to make a meal of her. So leaving Sahitya, they started fighting with each other. Meanwhile Sahitya escaped and we started running. A long sharp tooth was following us and wanted to eat us. Now we were so tired that we could not even run. At that time, we thought for a while that we were going to die. But suddenly a large three-horned dino came. She was the mother of that young dino whom we had saved from Futub. She called all her friends to fight against the sharp tooth. The sharp tooth was frightened seeing them and went away. I was very thankful to that three-horned dino, so I fed her fruits and leaves. She was pleased with me and licked my face with her tongue.  At the same time, uncle John had repaired the time machine. So he brought us back to the present time. After five days of our journey in the past, we came back to our home. Our parents were very happy to see us. It was the most exciting adventure we ever had. I had taken my camera with me, so had taken some photos of my dino friends, whom I miss now.
