‘Say No to Child Labour Campaign’

DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave, organized a plethora of activities to raise awareness amongst the students and the masses about the nationwide concern of ‘Child Labour’. The activities were conducted on 3rd and 4th August, 2016, under the CBSE project on ‘Child Labour’.
On day 1, the students of classes V & VI were seen enthusiastically participating in Slogan Writing Competition. The young and creative minds of classes VII and VIII made posters portraying the emotions and the challenges of the children employed in hazardous working conditions. The students of Classes IX & X beautifully penned down their thoughts in the Essay Writing Competition emphasizing the importance of providing basic education to the underprivileged sections of the society and providing a safe working environment for them.

On day 2, the students of Class X actively participated in a Rally to sensitize the local residents about the ill effects of the practice of child labour. The rally was flagged off by the Principal of the school, Ms. Manju Malik. The Principal also enlightened the children about the need to provide free education to these underprivileged children so that they can have a better tomorrow. The slogans, “Do a favor, avoid child labour” and “Bal majdoori hatao, desh ko bachao”, were echoed aloud by the students with zeal and vigor to spread awareness amongst the masses.
Our school has been proactively working to eradicate this social evil and provide a better future to these affected children. Students and teachers joined hands enthusiastically to spread the message –

‘Let children study, grow and fly…
don’t force them to work and die’.
