‘Blood Donation Camp’

Morning of 22nd October witnessed oodles of enthusiasm and gusto in the premises of DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave as the students, their parents and the staff members of the school actively participated in the Blood Donation Camp organised in the school under the aegis of Rotary Club of Delhi, Rohini, District 3012. Right from 8 in the morning to late noon, long queues of potential donors could be seen in the senior wing of the school where a team from Rotary Blood Bank conducted a medical check-up of each donor before giving the final nod for blood donation. With more than 100 potential donors turning up and around 30 units of blood donated in a few hours, the camp turned out to be successful endeavour.

A Special Donor Card along with a memento was issued to each donor by the Club. The card can be useful for procurement of blood from the club, in case of need. The campaigning for this earnest endeavour began days before the camp. Students of the Interact Club along with the First-Aid Club and the teachers actively participated in the special rally organised by the school and also performed a special street play to spread awareness among the masses about the benefits of donating blood.

Students vociferated slogans and distributed informative pamphlets to the passers- by thereby encouraging them to come forward for the noble mission. The school has been training the students to work for the betterment of the humanity, thereby contributing its best to the society.
