‘Cyber Safety Awareness’

With a hope of spreading awareness among the teachers regarding the problems related to Cyber-Bullying – an Emerging Nuisance, DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave organized a workshop on March 15, 2017 on Cyber Safety Awareness in schools, in collaboration with Delhi Police.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Divya Chawla, Counsellor of the school and Mr. Arpit Gupta, Computer teacher. The workshop aimed at emphasizing the various ways in which cyber-bullying is emerging as a big threat and how it affects the victim mentally and emotionally. The workshop further focused on the reasons which prompt the youth to commit such crimes without realizing the hazardous consequences. Various strategies were highlighted to familiarize the teachers in order to deal with the victimized students.

The workshop proved fruitful as it helped in understanding the circumstances responsible for such crimes and the steps which can be taken to make the youth cyber safe. Along with this, some guidelines were also provided, that can be helpful for using various sites and apps to ensure the safety of the users i.e. timeline, tag and privacy settings.
