The Youth Today Are Mature,Wise And Balanced

T
he Youth today are Mature, Wise and Balanced
The youth of the present millennium are aggressive, impulsive and imbalanced. This statement seems to have cropped up in the mind of some biased and prejudiced persons. He may not have tried to understand the youth, and not have given due credit to their thoughts and ideas. I wonder at this statement. In my opinion, these views are old, orthodox, rotten and stereotyped.
Rather I would like to say that the youth of the present millennium are far more intelligent, mature and balanced. Before we understand their capability and maturity, we shall have to understand the world scenario today. The whole world has shrunk into a global village. The means of communication are far more fast and advanced than that of the past. Today, the youth are well aware and have insight into a large variety of events happening around them. Perhaps the old generation wants them to see as meek, gentle and docile. Their definition of being submissive and balanced is different. They want that the youth while talking to their elders, be it teachers, parents or anybody else, for that matter, should stand before them with a bowed head, and behave like dumb-driven cattle. They should be only yes men, and then they will be dubbed as wise and balanced.
Here, I want to drive home an important point, i.e., the elders should honour the youth’s energy and enthusiasm. Mind it; no change can be effected in any society unless their youth take the reins in their hands. I want to ask everybody a question here; do you know how the war of Kargil was won by India? It was only the youth, the fresh lieutenants and captains who were at the forefront, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their motherland. They were not aggressive, they were not impulsive and yes, they were not imbalanced.
I now want you to rise above the party politics. Let us consider another case, irrespective of the political party we belong to. When Rajiv Gandhi became the Prime Minister of India, a sea change in planning for the progress of the nation was made. I don’t underrate the contribution of those who earlier ruled over India and took it on the path of progress. But what I want to say is that Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was a youth, his intentions were genuine and he wanted to take India to the place of glory and success. He did try hard and proved his mettle. For these new age automobiles, high-tech gadgets and equipment, and the onset of the cyber age in India, we owe much to Rajiv Gandhi, who was a youth. And he was not aggressive, not impulsive but a wise, mature and a balanced personality.
The question arises why the youth are dubbed as aggressive and impulsive. This is because they are a reservoir of strength and energy. They want to do something for the welfare of the nation; they want to do something for the sake of the society, they live in. They cannot pose like a mature senile person, who speaks too less because of the fear of being misunderstood. I am sorry to say that as man grows older, he becomes more worldly wise, hypocrite and superficial. He is not what he appears to be. Whereas the youth put on their face, what they have in their hearts.
Since they are intelligent, they raise their voice against injustice. They want to learn and understand things through logic and arguments. When they ask anything enthusiastically, they are dubbed as aggressive and impulsive, which is, in fact, not true.
Since they are inquisitive and curious, they have a good analytical power, they are dubbed as impulsive. I would like to clarify here that it is not being impulsive. Rather the present youth work with a mission and don’t feel like sleeping until they fulfill their mission.  We can take their reactions as innocent and small saplings of new and different ideas in their minds.
We should not forget that the great researchers, scientists and inventors were dubbed as impulsive and imbalanced. But their efforts led to great inventions and discoveries. The one who is unique would like to differ with others.  Therefore, rather than considering them as impulsive, aggressive and imbalanced, we should consider the present youth packed with energy, packed with intelligence and packed with wisdom.
The wise parents consult their youthful sons and daughters over a number of problems because they know that they will get the right suggestion and advice. Their brain and mind are fresh. They have a different but right perception towards most of the things. Their mind bubbles with fresh ideas and thoughts. They can change the course of the society. They can effect a change in the community. Above all, it is they who are chosen to be the vanguard of the nation and are entrusted with the task of defending the nation from the enemy.
If the youth of the present millennium had been impulsive and imbalanced, they would not have been selected for the defence of the nation. They would not have been selected for various medical and engineering colleges. They would not have been selected for the crisis management teams. History is the witness, wherever any crisis struck, it was the youth who led from the front and without caring for their own life, saved the lives of the people.
Hence, I would conclude that the present youth are not aggressive, rather they are sensible, not impulsive, rather are intelligent and wise, and not imbalanced, and rather are mature and poised.
