Operation Black Tornado

OPERATION BLACK TORNADO

One of the world’s busiest city, the night loving town of India, that is Mumbai. After a tiring day when people were  preparing for a sound sleep the terrorists took away their lives, dreams and sleep. The Mumbaikars became restless after witnessing those breath-taking events.
The recent bomb blasts in Mumbai one after the other not only rocked  the Maharashtra capital but also shook the whole of India. It started on November 26, 2008 at 9:21p.m. The terrorists in five groups came by sea from Karachi to Mumbai. They openly sprayed bullets at Victoria Terminal railway station and gradually went on to storm into three main places – Taj Hotel, Oberoi Trident Hotel and Nariman House.
The security forces consisting of Mumbai police, National Security Guards (N.S.G), Commandos of Anti-Terrorist Squad and fire brigade personnel plunged out of their beds for action. The terrified tourists staying in those hotels rushed to save their lives. Some of them were killed and some managed to escape. The bombings and shootings from inside the Taj were heard at regular intervals. The famous Taj was in flames.
The black cats (commandos) were air-dropped from helicopters on Nariman House so that the terrorists are forced to go down and surrender. The whole ground area was  well covered leaving no space for any escape. After this the attention was diverted to Oberoi Trident. There also security forces got success. Now the operation was focused on Taj, which took some time. Finally, the whole ordeal ended on 29/11 at 8:15a.m. But we lost our two N.S.G commandos, 14 policemen and A.T.S chief Hemant Karkare. Besides them, there were183 casualiies and over 300 people were injured.
India was asleep. She woke up from deep slumber after a shock by the terrorists. But politicians are still asleep. Where was Raj Thckarey when his so called Mumbai was burning? He says that only Maharashtrians should live in Mumbai but the Martyrs were from North and South India. Why is he speechless? Some of the politicians who took the responsibility of negligence resigned and others were forced to do the same.
Lets stop criticising each other and think what we can do to save our nation. We should not talk to strangers, no gifts to be accepted from the unknown, don’t touch any suspicious and unattended articles instead we should inform police, we should be more vigilant on roads and especially on crowded places. If politicians can’t do anything then we, the new generation will take initiative to save and stop such incidents from happening again.
