The aim of this workshop was to introduce and educate our teaching staff about the creative use of puppets as an effective educational tool in the classroom. The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce teachers to the concept of using puppets as a dynamic and engaging teaching aid, to convey the potential benefits of incorporating puppetry into lessons, including improved communication, creativity, and student engagement and also to equip teachers with practical techniques and strategies for integrating puppetry into their teaching methods. The workshop was designed to be interactive and hands-on, enabling participants to actively engage with the use of
puppets in a classroom setting.
The facilitator began with an overview of puppetry, its history, and its relevance in education, emphasizing the power of storytelling through puppetry. Participants were presented with research findings and examples illustrating how puppetry can enhance communication skills, foster creativity, and stimulate student involvement. Teachers were given opportunities to create and manipulate their own puppets, exploring different puppet types (e.g., hand puppets, finger puppets) and practicing basic puppetry techniques.
In conclusion, the workshop on "Puppets as a Tool of Learning in Class" has opened up exciting possibilities for enhancing our teaching methods. We look forward to seeing how teachers will creatively integrate puppetry into their classrooms and inspire students through this innovative
educational tool.
