DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave organised its annual extravaganza, DAV Essence 2025- INTERSCHOOL COMPETITIONS under the flagship of Rotary Club of Delhi Janak in collaboration with Rotary Interact District 3011, on August 23, 2025. The theme of the competitions this year was, ‘Viksit Bharat - Ek kadam Pragati ki Aur’. The gala event saw excellent participation with more than 500 entries from around 65 schools of high repute in 14 events held in both online and offline mode. The event saw schools not only from Delhi -NCR but other states like Haryana, and UP also participating with full zest and zeal.
The day began with the lamp lighting ceremony by the distinguished guests, esteemed judges, the Principal of the school, Ms Sonia Malik, eminent Rotarians and the event in-charges.
Mr Gauridutt, RMOC, AIM, Niti Ayog, Rotarian Rakesh Kumar, District Interact Chair for Rotary International District 3011 and Rotarian Rajeev K Thukral, President RY 25-26, Rotary Club of Delhi Janak and his team graced the event as esteemed guests.
The day saw a seasoned panel of judges gracing the occasion, including Ms Geetanjali Kapoor, HOD Social Science of a reputed school of Delhi, PDRR Rtr Kriti Malhotra District Rotractor, Prem Raj Dabas, Assistant Director, Rahul Khanna Theatre group and Mr Sahil, Assistant Director, renowned Khel Tamasha group.
Highly placed , established alumni of the school that joined the panel of judges included-CA Dhruv Sethi, CA Raghav Goyal, Shivam Jaiswal, Creative production expert, Utsav Ahuja, photography skills specialist, and Utkarsh, a reputed national Boxing and Judo Champion.
Principal, Ms. Sonia Malik in her address, highlighted the importance of healthy competition and enthusiastic participation. She also discussed the vision behind the theme of the Competition- ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’. Ms. Aarti Goel, HOD , Social Science Department of the school in her speech highlighted how the planned competitions encourage the students to learn and grow, thereby making them responsible citizens of Viksit Bharat.
The melodious Saraswati Vandana by the school choir and a scintillating fusion dance performance was appreciated by one and all. As the event kicked off, the participants from different schools showcased their talent by spectacular performances.
Based on an inspiring national theme- Viksit Bharat, DAV Essence aims at fostering a sense of responsibility, patriotism among young minds and providing students a platform to creatively express their vision of developed India in a series of competitions including three different segments- DAV UDAAN, DAV TECHNOSIS and DAV SPARDHA.
All three segments had a diverse list of competitions.
DAV Udaan included events such as Saga of Viksit Bharat, Taza Khabar, Shades of Viksit Bharat, Voice of Viksit Bharat, Viksit Bharatasaya Nirman, Being Young CM, Beyond the words: Mime, Envisioning Viksit Bharat, Hisaab-e- Hindustan, and Cine.Com exploring the creative talents, celebrating the artistic & linguistic competencies and honing the 21st century skills like effective communication, global mindedness, out of box thinking, ideation and innovation, of the participants.
DAV Technosis aimed at exploring and honing the technical and digital skills of the participants through events such as Tech 4 Bharat, Shutter Showdown and Code-a-thon.
DAV Spardha, by the events like Viksit Warrior Challenge reiterated the importance of physical fitness, aiming at promoting the concept of holistic development and true sportsmanship among the participants.
The winners of all the competitions, held in both online as well as offline mode, were felicitated in the Valedictory Ceremony.
The principal of the school Ms Sonia Malik, congratulated all the participants, the event-in charges, volunteers, teachers on duty for this mega success. Towards the end of the programme- Vote of Thanks was rendered by Ms Kavita Sachdeva, Supervisory Head of the school.
