‘Anti-Cracker Awareness Campaign’
Green Diwali - DAV Paschim Enclave’s small step towards a Noble Mission
The students and staff members of DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave participated wholeheartedly and enthusiastically in ‘Anti-Cracker Awareness Campaign’ on November 02, 2018 by actively participating in multifarious activities.
The campaign commenced with a few words by Ms. Shalini emphasising on ‘Scaling Down Carbon footprint’ and asking students to take a step against the practice of bursting Crackers. A jingle was presented by a group of Class VI students on the theme of ‘Say No to Crackers’.Students of Class IX took part in interesting activities such as Greeting Card making, Diwali Decoration Material Making, etc. Furthermore, An ‘Anti-Cracker Rally’ was organised by Ms. Divya Chawla (School Counsellor) and Dr. Anshu Asri (Medical Officer) to sensitise the residents, commuters and the children about the darker side of this illuminative object called crackers and have a safe and pollution-free Diwali wherein students, carrying inspiring and attractive placards with slogans like ‘Pollution Free Diwali Brings Everywhere Khush-hali’, ‘Clean Diwali Green Diwali’, urged everyone to celebrate a joyous and bright Diwali with colourful candles, decoratives and get-togethers and by avoiding the wasteful extravaganza of crackers. Lastly, the school choir presented a Diwali song under the guidance of school’s notable Music Department which left everyone wonderstruck by the exquisite melody.
This event aimed at helping ourselves and others understand the hazards of the boisterous celebrations of Diwali and the threat it poses to our environment.
